This workshop is a great opportunity for both students and teachers to learn proper asana alignment! Building from the foundation of mountain pose, we discuss alignment of the whole body, and how it can inform us how to optimally align ourselves in other yoga poses and in our daily movement patterns.
Students will deepen their understanding on how to align in foundational yoga poses, and teachers will learn to more readily see misalignments and offer clear instruction for their students on how to safely practice. Too often we move from posture to posture without being in proper alignment and when practiced in misalignment over and over sets the ground for possibly injury.
When a yoga asana (posture) is created in alignment, it is empowering and clearing on levels beyond the physical. Safe alignment of the musculoskeletal system in yoga allows for steadiness, freedom, and health in the body, our most gross layer of being, which in turn affects all other subtler and energetic layers of ourselves.
